We operate a G&E 48" Hobber (a refurbished 1958 in excellent condition). About 90% of the production on this machine are Helical Gears & Pinions. It has a 30 Index Constant and consistantly produces AGMA class 8-10 gears. Our problem is that with "some" lead trains , the table stops and the hob spindle rotates when we rapid the head up or down. This sometimes appears to cause a loss of hob to gear alignment. Is there any solution to this problem? Thanks for any input.
